is jesus GOD part 2

Much discrepancy in religion centers on the person of Jesus. Christians believe he is God while the Muslims believe he is a man, a prophet. To settle the issue, we will let the Bible of the Christians and the Qur’an, the holy book of the Muslims, speak.

1. Jesus himself said he was a man. John 8:40: The fact is, you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I have heard from God. Qur’an 19:20: He (Jesus) said: Verily! I am a slave of Allah, he has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.

2. Peter said Jesus was a man, Acts 2: 22.
3. Paul said Jesus was a man, 1 Timothy 2:5.
4. Jesus was a prophet, a messenger sent by God. Luke 24:19: He said to them, What things? They said: All those that had To do with Jesus of Nazareth, a prophet powerful in word and deed… Qur’an 5:75: The Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him.

5. God created Jesus; creatures can never be God. John 5:26: Indeed, just as the Father possesses life in himself, so has he granted it to the Son to have life in himself. Qur’an 3:59: Verily, the likeness of Jesus in Allah’s sight is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then said to him: “Be!” – and he was.

6. Jesus taught that there is only one God. Mark 12:29: Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! Qur’an 2:163 confirms him: And your God is One God: there is no God but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

7. Jesus called to his God: Matthew 27:46: My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
8. The God of Jesus is also our God: John 20:17: …I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God! Qur’an 3:51: Truly! Allah is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him (alone).

9. Jesus prayed to God; therefore he is not God: Luke 5:16: He often retired to deserted places and prayed.

Who is now your God? Jesus or the God of Jesus?
